Our talented graphic designer, Julie Feilen, recently laced up her hiking shoes and hit the trail to Manoa Falls, one of Oʻahu’s most beloved and picturesque waterfalls. The hike itself is a 1.8-mile round-trip journey, nestled in the verdant Manoa Valley.
The trail has an elevation gain of 577 feet. It takes explorers through a rainforest filled with tall bamboo, wild ginger, and tropical ferns. This is a true experience of Hawaiʻi’s natural beauty.
Julie called the trail “peaceful, fragrant, and full of life.” Sunlight filtered through the thick trees above. The soft sound of rushing water grew louder as she got closer to the falls.
Manoa Falls cascades down a 150-foot cliff into a serene pool — a breathtaking sight, especially after a fresh rain. While it's a popular trail and can be a bit slippery in places (and yes, the mosquitoes are real!), the reward is more than worth it.
